I love discovering great artists like Tift - especially when "The Machine" tries to pidgeon-hole them in a particular genre. If she IS country, she's NOT the bubble-gum crap Nashville has been spewing for years now. She's soulful-country-blues, which isn't cookie cutter -it's "real".
She reminds me of bits and pieces of greats like Emmylou Harris, Mindy Smith, Stacey Earle, and even some Gladys Knight. I just downloaded all of her stuff from iTunes and can't wait to discover all of it.
