What Happened To Us? (A Jonas Brothers Love Story) Season 5 Episode 93 (You Were Right Joe)

For awhile, all Joe could do was sit on the bed and stare off into space. He just knew that this was his imagination playing a dirty trick on him. Either that, or he was having a very, very vivid dream. He decided to give this a try, just to see if he'd actually experienced that or not. But one step and he stumbled, and he knew that he couldnt drive. Not if she was alive he couldnt. He called Nick and asked him for the favor.

Joe: C'mon Nick please, I need a ride to the hospital
Nick: (sighing) Joe, she's already gone by now, Im sure they've taken her somewhere
Joe: No, this is gonna sound crazy but, she's not dead. She called me from the hospital
Nick: Joe
Joe: Im serious Nick
Nick: I think you're being dillusional
Joe: Im not, I swear Nick she really called me
Nick: You seirously want me to believe, that a ghost called you?
Joe: She's not dead!
Nick: Joe, yes she is. Remember? You sat there with her?
Joe: I was wrong
Nick: (sighing again) If I take you to that hospital will it shut you up and let you grasp reality
Joe: Yes
Nick: Fine

Joe caught his breath as they pulled up to the hospital. Nick put his car in park and looked over at Joe, who was simply staring at the doors through the car window.

Nick: Go on, if she's really there go
Joe: What if she's not? What if I imagined that whole phone call
Nick: Thats because you did
Joe: But, she sounded so real
Nick: Because you havent let her go yet, she's always gonna be real to you
Joe: I have to just try Nick, I'll give anything to have her back
Nick: And when you realize Im right, Im right here ok
Joe: (making his lips form a straight line as he nodded once and slowly got out of the car)
Nick: (getting out and locking the car behind him)

Joe took a deep breath before he stepped inside. He felt his pace quicken as he neared the waiting room, where Jen said she was. But as he rounded the corner and opened the door, the room was empty of her presence. Nick walked up behind him and saw that she wasnt in there. He wanted so bad to tell Joe "I told you so" but knew that would be completly shady of him.

Joe: I cant believe I imagined the whole thing
Nick: Im sorry Joe. But since it was just yesterday, you're gonna have these clear and sharp visions of her. You're gonna be able to hear her voice for awhile. Its just gonna take some time.
Joe: (feeling a couple tears roll down his face) Time's not gonna fix this (closing the door and starting to walk back out)

Nick walked out of the building first, Joe slowly and sorrowfully following behind him. He could hear the faint sound of a doctor explaining something to someone, and that was the last thing he wanted to hear was a doctor. The one profession in the world that was made to keep people alive, and yet they'd let the one person he loved the most go. He had just reached the doors when something caught his attention. He froze in place right in the doorway, Nick telling him to come on so they could leave. Joe turned and looked back and he felt his heart stop. The doctor he had heard was explaining how to deal with the side effects of the medication he'd put his patient on. And after doing about a thousand double takes, Joe realized that it was Jen the doctor was talking to, and they must have been in another room as he explain all that stuff to her.

Nick: (coming up to Joe) Joe c'mon you're in the way of people needing to leave or come in
Joe: (staring off to where Jen was)
Nick: What are you staring at?

Nick let his gaze follow Joe's, and he saw the same thing. Nick himself became speechless. Joe wasnt kidding, because that was without a doubt Jen, it had to be. Nobody could be that scary close to her as far as looks and the sound of her voice were. They both watched as she let herself smile and make her way back down the hall towards the back.

Nick: (giving Joe a good shove) Well what are you waiting for, go get her
Joe: You saw her too?
Nick: Ya, I did. You were right Joe, she's alive
Joe: (taking off into the hospital and running back to the double doors Jen had just disappeared to)
