@sirbarksalot195 Actually, director Nick Castle WANTS to do a sequel. Apparently there are rights issues or something that's preventing it. All I know is that it was apparently going to revolve mostly around Alex and Maggie's son who is now a Starfighter or something like that. Could work, but I hope that if it does get made, the Gunstar should be left alone. The ship design is iconic with this movie.

This was such an original movie concept that it's not surprising that the "remake" industry that Hollywood has become never pcked up and went with this movie with sequals, TV shows and merchandizing. It only goes to show that the final truly inovative people the movie industry every employed are long dead.
