Prince Rama Varma sings the celebrated
Ata Thaala Varnam by Adiappa Iyer in an All Telugu concert at Trivandrum on
August 18th, 2007. (I had to chop off the introduction and the last few seconds, to make it fit the ten minute
time limit. Apologies to Prince Varma
and his listeners.)

  • I also watched your interview on RKB show - i was surprised to see such humbleness in you despite having so much of Knowlegde.

    Regards

    Mani

  • Me too! These videos show just a small percentage of what he knows. I coaxed him to let me post a couple of videos of him singing a Tagore song and a French song recently. His accent in both is perfect according to my Bengali and French speaking acquaintances.

  • Dear Rama Varma Sir,

A Very Beautiful Rendition of Viriboni. I keep watching This Video Repeatedly. I have seen some videos on youtube, wherein , you have provided some information on the song, its raaga, its meaning , I think, such kind of Interaction with audience is Very Important. It makes the concert experience much more pleasant. But May be you should give such information at the end of rendition, so that gives room for newbie to figure out for himself.

  • I am a huge big fan of Varma ji's explanations too. (I am not Varma ji by the way. I am just a friend cum fan of his.)

  • You are welcome. They are S.R.Vinu on the violin, Bangalore Praveen on the Mridangam, Sudheer on the Ghatam and Govindaprasad on the Morsing.
