I think it's a tragedy Benny Hill didn't live to enjoy a revival as one of our finest comedy performers. I've loved him as a kid from his ITV show and his film roles in the Italian Job and Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines. But it's a myth the so called PC brigade ended his career. Benny got stuck in a routine of doing the same old stuff each show as he aged. His last few TV specials are just not very funny and are difficult to watch, which is why ITV pulled the plug

@RicardosRealm Thats NOT how I remember it---He had not long cracked the US market, the biggest in the world, and yet those gutless bastards at ITV got the jitters because of the shit for brains PC/ libbers brigade. Just look at the trash today. how many times can you be 'shocked' into laffing at the eff and c word ? where's the wit--and inuendo ? We Brits had a long history of naughtie humour that never crossed the line, it can never return now, It broke Benny's heart and killed him.

Left wing PC nutters didn't hound Benny Hill off ITV. He got dropped because he became tired and old and repetitve doing the same old jokes that weren't very funny anymore . Exactly like Simon Cowell is going through now with his ratings-dropping brain dead tv talent shows
