I have started facing this issue where the contacts do not load up either in GMail chat or GTalk. GMail chat just shows "Loading..." whereas GTalk displays "Connecting... Signing in..." alternately. I think the problem surfaced when I installed GTalk Labs Edition the first time on my system. Since then, I have been facing this issue everywhere. I have also uninstalled GTalk LE and then re-installed GTalk as well.
