After he told her that he'll beat her into submission.

What? Do they mean that women are supposed to be beaten? That's the sexist worldview I'm getting from Adams (and maybe his wife).

Looking back at that part, I can say that's the most disturbing part of the view besides the excessive beating and full force used is that's how some people (even in the good ol' USA) still view women and children (of either gender). Scary how its something still accepted in various places in the USA.

The least useful thing for discipline is to make your child feel victimized, that you don't give a damn, and to exert such vicious feelings towards them. Especially if you keep cussing like a drunk sailor towards.

After thinking about the video, I noticed something that quite a lot of people on both camps keeps missing about the way Adams beat his daughter.

Notice on the part where the father and mother were telling her along the lines of "Take it like a woman"/ "like a woman"...

  • I remember when I was disciplined, it was a pop by the hand. What Adams did to his daughter though was DEFINITELY NOT discipline. It was the complete opposite, it was nothing, but abuse. He beat (meaning he used full force) her way too long, but here's the key reason why: context.

Notice the way Adams was speaking to his daughter. It sounded vicious and hateful to me and completely high off anger.

  • it is good to watch one person who was obviously treated like a human in her life and who sees others as humans too. lucky you. the world is full of abuse of all kinds and it really is horrible. everyone who cannot understand that is lucky. and of course there are people whose ability to trust others has not been damaged by domestic abuse - the world is beautiful and ugly.
