Rupert Murdoch Admits He Tried to Shape Public Opinion on the Iraq War during an otherwise smug and elitist conversation at the DAVOS WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM which took place in January 2007.

Murdoch met in forum with host Charlie Rose, Israeli Vice Prime Minister (& Foreign Affairs Minister!) Tzipi Livni.

Also there was Rt Hon GORDON BROWN MP
Chancellor of the Exchequer in the UK-- whom Charlie Rose announced during the meeting to be who "everyone expected to be the next Prime Minister."

  • There you have it! The founder of Fox News admits to "shaping" how he wants news to come out instead of being "Fair and Unbiased". His words not ours.

  • Also ask yourself whether MSNBC have an agenda. If you answered no, rethink. If you said yes, how is that different than Fox News (or for that matter the NYTimes) trying to influence public opinion...But Charlie Rose knows this, he was just playing to his audience.

  • I believe when he says "we tried" he is referring to the editorial aspect of his media "empire." Most media outlets have an editorial page that is separate from its hard "news" page. The New York Times in its editorial page takes positions on major issues every day (almost exclusively left-of-center positions). Surely through this they're helping to "shape an agenda."

  • @kn9ioutom

GOP and DEMS are the same...

Just thought i'd let you know.

  • FOX IS GOP PROPAGANDA !

  • Rupert Murdoch admits he tried to shape public opinion on the Iraq War or was he just being honest?

If a man of Mr. Murdock's reputation speaks honestly, that's the capture of a live oxymoron such as:

Randolph Hearst was honest or blatant?

The Voice of America is the 5th Gospel honest of journalism?

The BBC & China News are identical?

Good Laws allow for Oxymorons to not be a dying species -oddly, that is a good thing.

  • @closer37 Im not a fan of murdoch at all and thing he's a bad influence in the power he possesses but I agree with the point you're making regarding soros and turner.Theres too much bias whether its on the left or the right! There needs to be objective truely neutral reporting although thats very unlikely to ever happen!
