i dont know myself too, but didnt the Soviets' athlete system have awesome access to the arts world (music, theater, dance, clothing) to give them any help they needed? i think the federation might have asked a certain orchestra or producer to edit the music pieces of their top tier athletees.
At the climax of g&g's routine here the music is the Overture from Mozart's Marriage of Figaro. But does anyone know who the band/orchestra playing that particular version is? It has a rock beat to it, which of course is not in Mozart's original, but I think it's a great version. So if anyone can help........Thanks.
Wow look how young Katia looked back then. But not surprising since she was only about 16 here.

Yes, I think you are right. The first piece (Mendelssohn's 4th Symphony) is definitely an edit...and an expert one too.
