I wonder if at the end of the day at the colloseum the people went home and said: "All in all it was a very entertaining and fun filled day of animals being slaughtered, men being beheaded, and gladiators bludgeoning themselves to death,...yes chaps a very lovely day, when are we going again?"

While Nero was a butcher, the lake and gardens around his megalomaniac villas were not harmful. The Colosseum which was built over Nero's lake was a murder mill for countless humans and animals.
