  • Hello I'm hoping you can help me. I just got my ruffle foot I was so excited to start with my project. I watched many videos on youtube and thought it was going to be easy. Well not for me. The bobbin thread keeps balling up. I messed around with the tension and everything else and nothing seems to work. I have a Brother LS-2000 sewing machine and have only had it for a couple of months so I'm brand new to sewing. Any help would be great! thank you

  • @mafox5 I'd first try re-threading your machine, and sewing a straight stitch with your regular presser foot to make sure everything's fine. It might have something to do with the type of fabric you're using, and possibly the type of needle. The only time i had problems with my bobbin, i tightened that little screw on the outside of the thing that holds the bobbin thread, and that fixed everything. Honestly i'm not sure what's wrong though. I hope you figure it out!

  • I seriously thank you to no end for putting a tutorial on here for this!! I greatly appreciate it! I just have one lil question.

While making the ruffles, does it still pleat it instead of gathering it?

I've been trying to get my ruffler foot to simply gather my fabric instead of pleats but it's doing pleats only hmm...

  • @MissBetc it just makes pleats, just 3 diffterent sizes, the 1 setting will make them really close together, every stitch, which is basically gathering them.

  • What kind of ruffle foot is this, brand, etc, where you ordered it...Thanks!!!

  • @fuzzyslm it was the only one they had at handcock fabrics. joaans didnt have it. i didnt order it, i just went to the store and asked if they had it. the only thing you need to know is if you have a slanted foot attacher thing, or a straight one.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! I inherited my mother's sewing room a few years back and had no idea what these attachments were. They fit my 1960-era Elna SE and I'm going to keep this machine set up with the ruffler foot at all times. Great video, much easier to understand than anything else I came across during my search, including the original owner's manual.

  • If you don't feed it through those prongs you will find your fabric gets decimated by the foot. I had to take the bowls of the machine out to get the cotton back from where it messed up.

  • Hi, it is so amazing to look at! Thanks for posting this. I´d like to ask if you´ve mneasured the piece before and after pleating it. Could you tell me the original measurement and the measurement after? (Just trying my luck here, no problem if you haven´t measured the stuff :)) Thanks.

  • Thanks for Posting that.... now I can use my Ruffler...

  • Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi! Thanks for your video. How much more fabric do you need to make a ruffled skirt? Double the waist size? I have some super cute fabric I want to use with my ruffler foot but don't know how much I need. Thanks!

  • Oh nice sticker decoration. XD

  • Thank you for the nice tutorial. I am going to be ordering one soon.
