The allied crews and passengers taken prisoner by the German raider the Wolf in 1917 were locked up in one of the most remarkable, yet largely unknown stories of the first World War. The Wolf, a freighter converted into a warship bristling with guns, torpedos, mines and even its own seaplane, launched Germany's first direct attacks on Australia and New Zealand and captured over 400 men, women and children during its 15-month voyage.
Its story, and the stories of those aboard, has now been told in a new history called The Wolf.
An excellent book! I agree that this should be made into a movie (not by Hollywood).

I'm halfway through his book.
Very well written!
They're completely right about the scope for film/TV.
Hollywood, in it's wildest dreams, didn't have the kind of opportunity this book affords.
Americans don't make films about German heroes.....Germany doesn't make films about German war heroes very often. (Das Boot)
Can you imagine a film with Hollywood values, German/Australian actors and a script to die for?
The film will come. I hope hollywood doesn't get it though
