On a recent episode, host Tim Farmer caught a stringer of disappointment. This week, we return with a fisheries biologist to re-visit the idea of proper farm pond management.

  • It really is a shame when this kind of thing happens. Greed and selfishness from a few can ruin it for alot or an entire habitat ie this pond. Thank god for fish and game to try and keep things balanced. Wish everyone would realize that the laws and rules are there for a reason and have the maturity to abide by them.

  • the best pond i ever fish was a small farm pond all the way in oklahoma i caght 2 5lb largmouths and a 10 lb cat on a minnow lure in the same hour. This pond is so small that u could skip a rock across it then it would keep skipping on land. but im 13 i still have time to find better ones

  • this breaks my heart... i've seen this first hand in my own neighborhood. when me and friends were younger, we found this lake in a forest preserve and i kid you not we used to reel in huge bass and bluegill bigger than my hand. every year the fish got smaller and harder to come across and when i go there now, its like there was never any life in there to begin with. some people are assholes and will never understand the delicate balance of an ecosystem

  • Ponds often get over to many fish so they are "stunned" which means they dont get very big, which means you can keep fish which helps teh population overall.

  • Best fishing I've ever done was in a farm pond . A farm pond not over fished is something you just can't describe. Selfifh people let others enjoy it.
