  • our coal mines just shut down this week in Illinois...thanks UMWAAAAAAA!

  • Thank you for the posting.

  • Pittston is the name of the coal company

  • As in Pittston, Pennsylvania?

  • All the young men working in the mines today should get together..trust me,with the price of coal, the company isnt going to shut down..all for one or nothing at all. The young miners need to find the courage to stand up to the companies. Many men and women shed blood for miners rights and safety..only to see it all reverting back to the days of company housing and company stores..it is just around the corner.

  • Sad that all the men and women who fought so hard to earn workers a few rights and privileges and now the youngsters stood by and watched Massey,Marrowbone and other SCAB operations come in and just destroy the union. Unions were not perfect and took advantage at times and failed to take concessions when they probably should have..but how many would love to have some of those rights and job security now? How many have been fired just because a boss may have had a grudge or some unjust reason?
