In a time when jackpots didn't exist...
...Bally made this challenging and fun EM pinball machine. It's considered a classic because of the fact it has Multiball, a rarely seen feature on a machine from the Seventies. The game has 'Zipper Flippers', which means the gap between the flippers can be open or closed, depending on which target you shoot. Also, the skillshot was considered unique back then. It's in the back of the machine. There is a ramp, with 3 targets on it. The key is to let the ball roll over 3 rollovers, then just barely hit the fourth one, and then roll back. This scores you 3000 points, which makes mastering it quite important.
The machine was designed by Ted Zale, of Fireball fame. The art was done by Dick White. Because of it's bright green cabinet, and unusual theme, the machine really stands out in the crowd. It does so in an eyepleasing manner.
I bought the machine in an antique/curiosa store in Leiden, the Netherlands. The store was ran by a perculiar guy named Jappie. He told me an old lady previously owned it. :-) Thought I should mention that.
Oh yeah, in case you lost count; my score in this video is 43.250.
Interesting flipper design!
