Macklemore and Ryan Lewis recently released their debut album "The Heist" which reached number 2 on the Billboard charts with 78,000 units sold in it's first week. Their success is incredible as the duo is still an independent act with no major record label involved.

In this short film I traveled to Seattle, Washington to spend the week with Macklemore and Ryan as they shot their famous "Thrift Shop" music video, and prepared for the release of "The Heist". The two brought me into their indie lives and showed me what it takes day after day to reach the level of success they have.

Jabari Presents was made to inspire youth culture to chase their dreams by showcasing people who are living theirs. This is a story of hard work, dedication, and believing in yourself. This is Jabari Presents: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

As an aspiring journalist watching doc's like this are what gives me the inspiration to persue my dreams, no matter haw many times I hear that it's a dying industry. Jabari, you did a fantastic job in both coverage and delivering a huge impact emotionally. I have so much respect for Macklemore as well as Ryan Lewis! To see somebody who has had so many struggles in his life be such a hard worker and not give up on life is amazing! What an inspiring duo! The documentary was put together amazingly! Great work Jabari!
