'Deus meus adiuva me' This hymn has been sung in churches all over the world for the last 500 years. It was composed in County Donegal by a monk- Maol Iosa O'Brolchain - who was Abbot of Iona and Senior Hiberniae; that is Head Abbot of all the Columban foundations in Ireland and Scotland. He composed many hymns and you will note this was written in Gaelic and Latin. First and last line of each verse is Latin and the second and third line is Gaelic. Guitar accompaniment arranged and played by Eddie O'Donnell.Translation will follow:....

Deus meus adiuva me

Deus meus adiuva me
Tabhair dom do shearc a mhic dhil de
Tabhair dom do shearc a mhic dhil de
Deus meus adiuva me

Tuum amorem sicut vis
Tabhair dom go trean a dearfad aris

Tuum amorem sicut vis

Domine, domine, exaudi me
M'anam bheigh lan ded ghra a dhe

Domine, domine, exaudi me.
