In the 1984 Georgia vs Clemson game, UGA Kicker Kevin Butler kicked a 60 yard field goal late in the game to give Georgia the upset victory. Here's Munson with the call.

  • Didn't Butler nearly make a 70-yard field goal try at the end of a bowl game one of those seasons? That was a heck of an era for kickers in the SEC. Fuad Reveiz was hitting ridiculously long field goals for Tennessee almost every week at the same time Butler was doing it for Georgia. Letting those guys kick off a tee, like they did back then, just wasn't fair.

  • "And We'll try to kick one 100,000 Miles..."

    RIP Larry!!

  • Hate UGA football...loved Munson's calls though. The greatest sports pessimist of all time. LOL @ 100,000 miles.

  • There'll never be another like Larry Munson. RIP.

  • RIP Larry Munson.

  • What an awesome announcer!! Just fun to listen to. This was my favorite Munson call as well. He will be missed!

  • I always thought he was less like an announcer than like a crazy old uncle who's REALLY into the game. On both 'Run Lindsay Run' and '100K Miles', he never actually called the plays. Was it a touchdown? Did the kick make it? "Omigod!" can go either way. He was a hoot and a half, though.
