In our prior episode, we heard how technology from Western companies is controversially countering the liberation of China's society from openness and democracy.
Today we continue with a special episode of Zooming In, where we will take a look at the Golden Shield Project, which is said to be capable of monitoring all means of communication by Internet users in China.

The Chinese Firewall is not impenetrable.

I believe that free information is just a matter of educating the masses in the proper use of proxies and other hacking techniques.

Imagine how it was in 1961. Did the people who were employed to build the Berlin Wall to trap the people in East Germany know what they were contributing towards? Did they just work for the money and not care?

To me, from what I saw in this video, that is similar to what Cisco and related companies are now doing to the chinese people.

So, what´s new? Why do you think it´s western companies who are supplying this technology? Simple. They have hands on experience, because it´s what has already been installed in many Western countries. Yes, big brother is watching you, tracking you, and listening to you.

That the chinese are now doing it, simply provides anti chinese forces with your usual, bad Chinese, propaganda.

Am I pro Chinese? No sir. Can´t stand the scum personally. But I do recognise cheap propaganda when I see it.

Biometric data, facial recognition, mandatory ID cards, comprehensive communication processing and databases. Sounds like a parrallel with what Britain is proposing.

no offence, but shouldn't not ONLY show how foreign companies help the Golden Shield Project, but also show how the CCP use, and make the Golden Shield Project as well.

Otherwise, this series seems to be very biased.
