Complicated [[chapter 3 Team Jacob or Team Edward??]]

Nick: I have to go home but Ill see you tomorrow?

I nodded and he gave me a quick kiss on the cheek then walked out the door. I felt bad, I felt guilty. I could tell that he was hurting. I was hurting one of the guys that I cared most about. Ever since the whole Joe thing hes been so understanding, and so gentle. I always fall apart around him, but hes been so sweet and he looks out for me. But I didnt know how to not break his heart.

Flashback
Joe was gone just like that?

Nick grabbed my hands with one hand and moved the hair out of my face with his other. It had been two days since Joe left. I hadnt really moved from my position, but Nick stayed to try to make me feel better. But there were things that needed to be said.

Nick: So about you going to New York.

McKell: before I decide on anything between Joe and I, we need to talk about you and me.

Nick: Yeah we do.

McKell: There will always be something here because of that one night.

Nick: Yeah there will be. I love you McKell, I do. But I also know you love Joe. It hurts because I love you so much more than you know.

McKell: I love both of you, in different ways.

Nick leaned over and kissed me. I wove one hand in his hair as his hands were on my back and neck bringing me closer to him. His tongue grazed over my lips begging for entrance. I opened my mouth and our tongues battled for dominance. The kiss became more heated so I pulled away.

Nick: sorry.

McKell: Its ok. I just think that its lust between us. There might be something there but its mostly lust.

Nick: I dont think thats true-

McKell: I want to go to New York today.

Nick: what?

McKell: come with me.

Nick: Why would I go to New York to watch you and my brother make up when I love you?

McKell: Please? Youre one of my best friends. I need you.

Nick: Im not going to be your Jacob.

McKell: Im not asking you to be. Im asking you to be my friend. The one you were before we did anything. The one who I could talk to when I couldnt talk to Joe, or anyone else.

Nick: I dont know if we can ever go back to that McKell.

McKell: Fine.

I stood up as my heart broke a little bit more. I started gathering things from around my room and packed my bags.

Nick: Please. Stay and think about it for a little bit longer. I know that you and Joe need to work things out, but that doesnt mean you guys have to date. You dont have to leave. When the two of you are together, youre hurting each other. Please stay.

Mckell: No. Im not staying.

Nick: Please.

I ignored him and grabbed my stuff. I headed downstairs to hear Nick following me.

Nick: McKell, just listen to me.

McKell: Tell me one thing. Were you ever rooting for Joe and I?

Nick: For a while I was. Because I saw how happy he made you. Sure it hurt me, but at least you were happy. I tried to distract myself with Keisha, but that didnt work. When you guys started fighting all the time, I stopped rooting for you guys, because I wanted to make you happy. I love you McKell, I just wish you would actually realize just how much I do.

I was stunned.

McKell: I have to go.

Nick looked shattered. I turned and headed to my car. What is wrong with me? I cant live without Joe, and I cant live without breaking Nicks heart? Why do I have to choose between the two most amazing people? I started the car and drove to the airport in hopes of finding my answer. After my first layover the flight was canceled due to bad weather. I was stuck here for another two days. I was sort of grateful though. It would give me time to think of a few things.
End Flashback

I was such a horrible person.
