I remember thinking Ashley seemed REALLY young for 14, no doubt due to being oversheltered. She's 20 today...hopefully its changed at least a little bit! lol
Just to play devil's advocate, I can relate to both sides. No doubt there are creeps and dangers in the world kids need to be protected from, but raising her to be responsible and street smart would seem much better than treating her like an extended 5 year old.
