Some fish are Just Unstoppable!!

Some Fish just can't be stopped, and we hooked a few on our recent trip. We had a triple hookup on a new spot, but Graham hooked a real handful. With heavy fishing gear and 50 pound Braid, big drag, we still had no chance. After several minutes and no line won, we even thought we'd have a go at chasing the fish, and try and plane the fish to the surface from the deep. This is a good technique sometimes to try, as you can change the angle of the fight and get the fish up to the surface, and get some line back easier. Quality fishing gear is well worth it when chasing big fish, and try afford the best fishing gear you can. Well worth it in the long run, and especially when that fish of a lifetime jumps on.
Jason landed a nice Nannygai, relatively easy compared to Graham's fish, and so really does make you wonder what you hook sometimes. Lee also hooked three unstoppable's on Elevator jigs, and same story, lost three hell fish. But that's fishing and that's what keeps you coming back for more.
As we started the motor's to try and chase unfortunately the line broke, after some considerable effort. Make sure you use quality line, and we fish at least 50lbs, which will stop most fish. Maybe worth running 80lbs or 100lbs if getting into truly big fish, and heavier leaders. I now use 100lb mono leader and seems to work on most occasions, and definately landing alot bigger fish compared to 60 and 80 lb leaders we used to use.

Mainly get Red emperor, Nannygai, coral trout, sweetlip and the odd cod in the deep, 50 metres for us, Check the video before this one, fishing addicts, top session with a good selection of fish for a couple of hours work,
