If you would want to take your headset around, meaning in the bus, walking in the city...etc, but also want them for gaming. Then the A30s are for you. But if you're more of a serious gamer, and don't like people seeing you with a bulky gaming headset walking around, then the A40s are for you.
Both are good for gaming, but one was specially designed for that; the A40s.
