This ride is the current Alpenrose track record kilo. It broke the 2001 record set by multiple olympic gold medalist Marty Nothstein. Canada national team sprinter Travis Smith (on the way to Pan Am games the following weekend) , also broke the old record in a sub 1.09 ride in the ride following this one, but fell half a second short of the winning time.
