This is the shrine of al Khidr as known to ancient Sufis which lies inside the citadel in Allepo, Syria. The name , al Khidr, translates as the Green Man as it is known in Western countries particularly in London. The shrine is attended to by two female caretakers who are visibly shying away from the camera.

  • There s a famous passage in the Koran about the The Khidr and Moses and the journey they undertook together. He has taught the prophets of God the inner knowledge. The Khidr is very much still alive; he is not confined to any particular locale or to any particular form as he changes his appearance at will.

  • Hi,

You are right, al Khidr, (peace be upon him) is eternally alive. His maqam is not a grave but only a place to pay tribute to him, like in many parts of the world. He is said to come to that place once a day to greet his visitors, so if you are there you might feel his presence or you might see some kind of a sign.

  • There's no condition that one prophet cannot be in time of another. Isa AS, Yahya AS, Musa AS and Harun AS they were present in each others time.

  • The reason I suspect him to be a prophet if he has been alive for so long then every prophet that comes he has to be his follower. Which wouldn't make any sense unless if he has his own shariah only specified for him.

but if he's really a Wali of Allah then truely i m the most happiest person to know that one of the Walis taught the great prophet Musa AS. I dont know if Wali can be a teacher to a prophet unless if he's a prophet himself.

  • I think Hazrat Khidr AS is a prophet and has his own specific shariah which is not bound by the rules of Quran or previous scriptures. I learned this from Harun Yahya's videos regarding hazrat Khidr.

  • Al Khidr may be a prophet, may be a wali... If he is still alive then he is not a prophet but a wali, and if he is a prophet then he has died. BUT there are reports that he met the prophet (Pbuh) so he cant have been a prophet and meet the final prophet simultaneously.

He has been assigned a duty, that is not in the nature of the prophets. He deals with issues that are not related to Fiqh or what Prophet's teach to the people.

I dont think he is berried here... because he isn't dead

  • hi

how come you are showing the grave of al khidr? according to the tafseer, al khidr still to be alive!!! please explain.

  • khidr is said to be a prophet....a mysterious person.........but quran says.........he is just one of the wisest man who guided and taught lessons to prophet moses.
