A palavra "palimpsesto" deriva do grego pálin (novamente) e psestos (raspado, apagado) e faz referência a uma página manuscrita ou livro cujo conteúdo foi apagado (mediante lavagem ou raspagem) e escrito novamente. Os videos de Palimpsestos nos mostram uma sobreposição e supressão contínua de textos visuais e escritos. Imagem e texto aparentemente se complementam, mas é a imagem recria o texto ou é o texto que redefine a imagem? Qual a função do texto? Qual a autonomia da imagem? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------­- The word "palimpsest" derives from the Greek pálin (again) and psestos (rubbed, scraped) and refers to a manuscript page or book whose content was erased (through washing or scraping). The Palimpsest videos show us a continuous superposition and suppression of visual and written texts. Image and text apparently complement, but is it the image that recreates the text or is it the text that redefines the image? What is the text function? What is the autonomy of the image?
