@solarlightning I see. In this crash, the seatbelt "saves" the driver - without it the dummy would slam into the windshield/steering wheel because the airbag isn't strong enough to stop an unbelted person flying forward at 40 mph - if it was, it'd hurt a belted driver badly. Also - airbags have limited space to expand (a foot in front of the dummy) and the seat belt keeps the dummy against the seat while the bag expands at 200 mph, stopping an inch or two from the dummy.

@whattheheck1000 ya i was driving and he was the passanger but he wasnt wearing his seatbelt so he flew into the airbag
