Shadow: the toughest opponent in the game. It glows red when it's health is low, but If it cathes you with one of those giant bites like at 2:11 at this stage It's an instant kill.

i know he's optional, but how do u get to him? like entering a mini boss fight?

@ShadowFan765 you must play it on normal mode to fight shadow you won't fight this boss on easy

@ARMagEDdonWATCHER It helps, and generally works better than Alastor, but on the higher difficulties it's only so much help.

@valmontdracul Can't you stun Frosts by using the devil arm (can't remember this correctly) Ifrit (those fire gloves)? That seemed to work when I was playing through the game.

@ChaosBahamut The easy method is actually spelled out in the enemy files. When you encounter a Shadow, you should NOT start attacking it. When you shoot it, it goes aggro. When you just sit there and stare it down, it'll eventually try to spear you. Jump straight up to dodge and land on the spear, then fire your handguns as fast as you can. While your are standing on the spear, the shadow is stunned, and your damage goes directly to the core. Shadow will usually turn red right after, except DMD.

@stelkin656 It does a certain amount of damage, however if that damage would kill you, this attack is one of the few in DMC that goes into a finishing screen. There are actually several finishing screens in DMC.

What is, and how do you do that jab jab jab with the sword at about the 2.45 mark? I've seen it heaps but can't for the life of me figure it out? Is it a special move?

Shadows are one of the best foes in dmc games. They become even more difficult in dmd when they shoot some sort of ethereal arrows that cause big damage. And fighting two shadows in dmd was nothing shorter than badass.
