  • Luv how they're bein all hardcore and Kyo's wearin sum adidas sweatpants and tennis shoes lol

  • I use to listen to Mike Patton but now I honestly don't get anything out of his music nor do I even appreciate it.

it was pretty funny to see the responses about timalanders initial comment in response to mine. because my tastes have drastically changed since i made that comment and while I still quite enjoy certain dir en grey songs, my taste has progressed. actually, i LOVE mike patton! and when i saw dillinger they played mr. bungle before they came on. i'm not gonna make a comment towards whether kyo or mike is better but at the moment i am personally enjoying mike way more

  • @KenSansei That solo is actually damn near impossible to perform. It's all written, and sounds exactly the same live as it does on record - it's using your voice as an instrument, and it's extremely difficult. It's actually written by John Zorn, one of the most respected avant-garde musicians out there.

Music is just arranged noise, and some people like to do it a bit differently.

  • Mike Patton is a more versatile vocalist - but then again, he has a lot more projects to experiment with.

Faith No More and Mr Bungle definitely influenced Dir en grey, though. In fact, the main hook in SA BIR (the intro to Uroboros) is almost identical to a bit in Mr Bungle's Desert Search For Techno Allah.

  • BMTH is creep.
