Prof. Hotchkiss is just a little eccentric. Maybe she has Alzheimer's or is going senile. That would explain why she can remember a phone call two years ago and not Nancey's name. It's only the short term memory that's affected. Her long term memory would be perfectly fine. I need to stop reading so much into these games.
