  • I travelled with my school choir to the Czech Republic (as well as Austria and Germany) in June and this church looks QUITE familiar. Can anyone tell me what church this is?

  • This is the church in Velke Bilovice small town near borders with Austria and Slovakia.

  • it sounds better in Russian

  • sorry to add some critic:

but i think I'm very accurate when I say this version is way too fast.

When you listen to the the final and most creamy part of this masterpiece it doesnt come through... what a pitty, because there was some true potential with this choir. next time better ? :)

  • Thank you for your lovely music. It was a joy to hear you. Thanks for sharing.

  • @footballrox07 technically, Bogoroditsye Djevo is Church Slavonic, which is descended from the same Old Slavonic predecessors as vernacular Russian, but has distinct differences. It's like Church Latin versus any of the modern Romance languages.

  • You sound a bit scared of the piece. Don't be! it won't bite! It's such a gorgeous piece and each chord is different. He has such rich writing if anything, you should take time to pull on each chord and let it simmer. At around 1:38 where the Bases come back in, take a lot more time. this piece prophesized the coming of war and that moment there is the 'end of the world' moment that can define the piece if you let it.

  • i like this!

  • Beautiful song and rendition but the sopranos sound really loud and they are overshadowing everyone else! In the place where the altos are suppose to have the spotlight, the sopranos seem to have taken over with their part!!!

  • Far too fast...The University of Maine Singers just finished a tour and this was one of the pieces. It was a beautiful piece simply because of how expressive it was. Each chord strikes a different resonance in every person and if you rush though it, you loose soo much.

  • hmm missing the bass.. This song has such a beautiful bass.. I sing second bass and it's one of my favourites where I can really go down..

  • brainless

  • A fantastic arrangement but done too fast here.

  • The Choir is lovely, it's the echoestics that is not good.
