Well, Edita's top notes are NOT forced, that's her charm. But I can understand you don't hear it that way, we have different tastes.

Both Donizetti, Rossini and Bellini often got hopeless, silly stories to build their operas upon. In such situations, the music is of undisputed importance, and happily - the three masters were able to create musical miracles.

Well, no, I don't enjoy Ms. Gruberova's singing, the top notes sound forced and pressed but I guess coloraturafan had to make do with what was offered ....

Thank you for posting operas that are nearly extinct, at least in most opera houses. It´s always a joy to listen to Ms Gruberova.
