Following John McCain's supposed suspension of his campaign and last minute cancellation of his appearance on that night's 'Late Show with David Letterman', on Sept. 24th, the host ponders the reasoning behind the "suspension" and wonders why McCain's second-in-command couldn't continue on with the campaign.

(This clip is an edited-down version of Dave's comments from the night, specific to the campaign suspension and what it says about McCain's choice of his running mate.)

  • You don't suspend your campaign.

  • Dave seems to have gotten through to you.

(There was some classic Letterman in that rant, from the repetition, to the pregnant pause after suggesting the Dem ticket might also suspend their campaign.)

  • Poor McCain... his campaign is a complete joke. Well, at least he's getting air time.

  • Letterman is hysterical.

The big problem is that while Palin provides a terrific source of comedic insanity and is America's ultimate joke, people are actually buying in to her bulls++t and will vote for the dumbass. She'll outlive the geezer and we'll have a nut-job fanatic as a president!
