I am aware of all of this. As I wish to do? Where did you ge that from? The Founding Fathers knew the dangers of the Executive, and debated long and hard about what to do, because they saw this coming. There should never have been an executive. There is too much power there. Anyway, I'm done because, thank god, Paul doesn't have a chance.

The patriot act thing would be great, if I believed it.(the repeal part of it) And abortion, gay marriage, etc, can not be left to the states. For one thing, we can't have people being married in some states and not in others. And some people being murders in some states and not in others. See the problems here? Furthermore, Gay Marriage is a civil right, and unless you think that all civil rights should be determined by states, then it ought to be determined by the feds.

The common thread of all the systems in which you refer to is authortarianism and grandiose statism -- concepts the Founders were adamantly opposed to. Orwell recognized the potential capacity of the State to exercise total control over peoples' lives, demolish their unalienable Rights, and to effectively produce a world-wide totalitarian regime. War is not Peace, freedom is not slavery, and ignorance, most definitely, is not strength.

Orwell didn't confuse anything, nor have I. However, you appear to be confused about the principles of Socialism of which their are many variants. Socialism is an economic system (Marxist Economics) where the Government owns "you" and Communism is a political system based on Marxist Economics (refer to the Communist Manifesto by Marx and Engels). The principles and philosophy of Liberty dictate otherwise i.e. you own yourself.
James, you brought me something new and fun FROM THE INTERNETS! It's amazing that I have never heard of this before considering how much time I spend here reading about politics and government. Thank you so much for sharing such a cool site with us, and great job on creating new and interesting content outside of the 2008 election!
