Lea Michele and Cory Monteith exchange a lingering look when asked about their on and off again onscreen relationship during the Glee cast's appearance on Inside the Actors Studio Monday night. The rumored real-life couple stayed mum about their personal status but did answer questions about their characters.

"You can't let the audience have everything they want all at once, you have to save some of the relationship, you know?"

Nevertheless, show creator Ryan Murphy revealed he often writes plot points based on the actors' own lives.

"A lot of the storylines often come from them."
