I think he was omnipotent before he was kicked out of Olympus...but now, just as he is trapped in a mortal body, he has temporarily lost his other divine powers.

Well, the creator did say that if the series ever ended, Cupid would end up actually being a crazy guy - not literally Cupid.

Incorrect. It was actually said he was always written like he was a crazy guy, but it would be up to the viewer in the end whether he was or not. There would be no deffinitive proof one way or the other, and even written as a crazy guy means he still had him as cupid as well.

Oh, well I was just going by what the creator said on his website. To quote (it so you don't have to search through the FAQ) "I believe most viewers absolutely wanted him to be Cupid; I think I leaned, slightly, to the notion he was off his rocker." But yeah, you're more correct than I am.
