We had the air power to win...Curtis Lemay commander of SAC said he could win this war in 10 days./he was denied permission to bomb targets in Vietnam. Later president Nixon ordered bombing of Vietnam and after 11 continuous days of bombing north Vietnam said they wanted to talk peace.

@AccordGTR "still support the war..." The American people never supported the war, which is why we left Vietnam in the first place. Nowadays we don't really care about the war itself but we like to honor the people that fought on behalf of our country. There's a difference between supporting a war and supporting the people that are fighting it.
