You cast over 500,000 votes for the top 20. Now find out which 5 Heroes will be honored this year at the UJC/Jewish Federations of North America's General Assembly on November 9th.
adamhaman it's a pity you did not fully understand what I wrote...
I did not, any way, write that women need a hand up because they can't compete with men...
My point was that there were ALSO other women who had high numbers of votes and were extremely deserving of being chosen but 4 men 1 woman implies that that it's all about the "boys Club" afterall.
so few hits on this and other videos, so how does Rabbi Yonah have 90k+ votes? Could it be Rabbi Yonah's supporters got there by duping people into voting for him?
See his name: .vanityfair com / online/ style/ 2009/09/what-should-a-rabbi-drive . html . It links directly to voting for him ( tinyurl . com / qv7fc2 ). A scam.
Another of their scams is mentioned here: forward . com/ articles / 117205/
Rabbi Yonah surely knew of these and other methods.
Chava, this is a competition for the "Jewish Community Hero" its not a drum circle, where everyone gets a chance just because they showed up. Devorah got through because many people voted for her. The only thing the competition should be based on is votes, because its the only way to measure what the Jewish Community really feels. Its interesting that you believe women need a hand up because they can't compete with men.... I imagine that could lead to a very frustrating life.
All of these 5 finalists are deserving as were the final 20 but ONLY ONE WOMAN amongst the five...SHAME on the judges you are clearly sending a message and it's not a good one to Jewish women...all Due rsepect to Deborah but helping people get married is great but what about the women who make changes that truly help people get connected to being Jewish and stand together strong in a world that is becoming increasingly antisemitic...
Judges you dropped the ball...sorry I bothered to vote at all
