This is one of the first Tipton solos I ever learned top to bottom. This is as transcribed in the book Hell Bent for Lead Licks by Nick Bowcott. I even included the popped open G string (uhhh huh huh) that the transcription indicates as "accidental note" !!! Thanks again Nick. Hope I got it right.

  • THAT WAS NUTS

  • Thanks bro, this one's been a long time in the works. Classic tipton solo; blues scale in A, learn it all over the neck. Then you can NAIL this solo, it's really not bad to get down.

  • dont know if u remember me...Im scott...I was ur student at music emporium

  • I should have known. You did use to say "nuts" alot. How you been man? What do you mean "if I remember you"??? Of course bro, how you been? I miss you dude you gotta stop in and say wazzap. Tell your dad I said hello.

  • Hi, ive learned how to play this now, I was trying for a long time and it just kind of came to me.

  • That was good, ive wanted to play that solo for years, could you post a lesson on how to play it?

I know the blues scale but i still cant play it.

  • the only in you tube congratulations

  • wow, not bad!

  • u are soo good :D

  • good solo an fuckin grinder is a awesome song

  • that was good, now i,m gonna have a crack at it

  • Good taste in solos.

  • Needs a lot of work but keep it up.

You may find it more useful to play the fast bit all on the B string as this: 16-17-20-17 (all slurs).

Or: 17-20-17 on the B, followed by 20 on the G.

  • actually, this one is not so simple, as it looks... Actually, this is more hard to play than the KK part of Metal Meltdown intro solo.
