@themusicmatterz 1989 I think, just after the No Control album was released (altough they didn't play a single song from it in that show).

@JohnZackarias Agree with this comment with a late reply. I can honestly say that throughout high school I learned more vocabulary from Bad Religion than I did in any of the books they gave us.

Well, they did draw a lot of inspiration from the Germs lyrically, but I wouldn't call it derivative, I agree.

I'm tired of this city!

Bad Re-Idiots?
Yeah, right. Read their lyrics and come again.
No matter how simple the songs are, they pleasure my ears, immensely. And they're not a bunch of stupid "KILL THE GOVERNMENT"-punks, they're intellectual.

i dont see bad religion as derivative atall...not many bands are lyrically in the same league as bad religion musically yes br can be compared to many punk bands but lyrically the style is different probably from greg being able to articulate his point of view very well and with a wider vocab than most plus br can be very melodic. greg said himself that most br songs can be played in folk style acoustically and perhaps thats were the soul of the music is for me plus his voice absolutely rules.
