The Commodore doesn't have an engine from a Corvette!

The LS series engines are manufactured by GM for use in a wide variety of GM cars.

Commodores have the same engine as a Corvette, but is not "from" a Corvette.

Holden is the Australian Division of GM, who also make Chevrolet. So when you say you hate Chevrolet you are also saying you hate Holden. Vauxhall are the British version of Holden, also owned by GM. Just because the difference in Badge, doesn't mean the difference in Car. Because they are the same and come from the Same factory. BTW The Commodore has an Engine from a Corvette.
