Lyrical first theme and stormy roiling second theme make this piece memorable. Nocturne is a form beloved by pianists, not well known by others. Performed by Chopin Project member and composer Michael Glenn Williams.

  • What briefing is the cameraman given. Most have seen dampers leaping all over the keys and enjoyed watching the expression on the pianists face. Surely the use of his hands and to a lesser extent his feet are more intrinsic to demonstrating his skill. A nice looking guy although he seems quite inscrutable. I like to see the odd wince or a bit of lemon sucking as a phrase almost fails or a note just fades early otherwise I may as well listen to a DVD! Otherwisea nice performance.

  • Thanks for the compliments and for the camera suggestions! Also, thanks for listening. Glas you enjoyed it.

  • Beautiful! I like it.

  • Thank you!!

  • Nocturne form not well known by others? The nocturne is one of Chopin's most popular types of piano songs, among all people. I don't understand why you would say that.

  • Sounds like music from an old silent film. One of those ones where the girl gets tied up and thrown on the traintracks.

  • Not a very good sound, sounds kinda of a mess, maybe for the lack of the right technique.

  • I don't think the doppio movimento was quite reached.

  • see my version. it rumble like thunder

  • its sometimes hard to see where the force is being applied

using fingers only damages your hand

in this case u use elbow joint and the whole arm goes up and down. the wrist can also move up and down but out of phase with the arm's cycle of up and down

  • its hard to see where the force is being applied

  • NEVER use individual finger technique. that fucks your hand.

EVERYTHING should be a combination of dropping whole arm and rotating wrist.

please whoever reads this and is aware of this deep truth, put a thumbs down for musicfanof's misunderstanding

  • using fingers only is ideal except for grotesque contortions to hit every note. i use wrist to get the legato sound and to get it faster. then again this was 6 months ago, ive finished this piece. hahaa
