Bill Gates fault at trying to push the Elephant into tablet, Apple did it by thinking using new OS approach to change the landscape and finally crack it at ipad. Windows 8 will be a even big elephant if it can run old x86 code, making it able to run on a machine is one thing, elegant or not is another.

@sorrath He has been saying that tablet was his favorite form factor for many years. He has also been trying to push the tablet PC for many years, at a time even Steve Jobs was making fun of tablets (go see some old AllThingsD interviews of Jobs). But MS was never able to crack it, and Windows tablets were always too expensive.
