This video is about Ex-landfill sites and methane burners. These places were originally quarrys before they got turned into landfill.
------ Parkwood Ex-landfill ------
This is located at Parkwood near Maidstone near some weird plastic houses.
It took me a while to find the methane burner. and when I did I was disappointed as it was switched off. As I was walking away I heard it make a loud noise (sounded like a compressor). so I ran back to it but it had stopped by the time I got back. After a few minuets it started up, it took me a moment to switch my camera on so I only managed to film part of the startup sound. (I still don't know what that compressing noise was).
------ Otterham Ex-landfill ------
This is located in Rainham in Medway. It has 2 methane burners. There is a lot of methane here (it can't be very old), I could actually smell rubish! This place feels very weird and deserted.
------ Gillingham Ex-landfill ------
This is located by the railway in Gillingham in Medway. It is next to The Vineries housing estate which has a lot of anti-social behaviour. On the Ex-landfill site there is often people driving illegally driving mini-motorbikes. and there is often burnt out cars.
I have found out that when it was a quarry there used to be a railway that took stuff from the quarry to be loaded onto boats (near the strand). You can just about see the route that the railway took.
------ Berengrave ------
This is a quarry that never got turned into a landfill site. Instead it is now a nature reserve. This also had a railway to take stuff to load onto boats. You can still see remains of the ballast and in one place there is still a rail.
I see what u mean it sounds bit like a wave machine that uses blowers.
