Nunn-Lugar Shchuchye Visit, May 2002

Video of Senator Dick Lugars May 2002 visit to the Shchuchye Chemical Weapons Facility in Siberia, Russia. On May 29, 2009, Senator Dick Lugar will attend the official opening of the Shchuchye Chemical Weapons Destruction Facility in Russia. Construction of the facility was funded by the Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat Reduction program. Earlier, the program had secured the nearly 2 million munitions containing VX nerve agent and other chemicals weapons.
