http://www.myboxingcoach.com for boxing techniques - It doesn't come much better than slipping punches by 'rolling with them' (also referred to as 'bobbing and weaving'.) In this Boxing How To guide I'll show you exactly how to do it like a pro! Bobbing and weaving is a skill that opens many doors, either during infighting, on the attack or on the retreat at long range. When bobbing and weaving, it's possible to evade multiple shots during a single execution. The fact that the head is moving in a non-linear way means that it's extremely difficult for an opponent to judge where to throw shots. Add into the mix that whilst bobbing and weaving you can unleash big, big shots!

This video covers bobbing and weaving (rolling) in both directions; the Inside Roll and the Outside Roll. The inside/outside bit relates to the fact that if the opponent throws a jab, we would end the move on the inside (to your left) of the jab or the outside (to your right) of the jab. Watch the video, then check out the mechanics and faults on the main site (http://www.myboxingcoach.com/bob-and-weave-roll-with-em) to make sure that you consider the right way and the wrong way to using this boxing technique!

  • Good technique but your back foot seems a little too right angled for balance in my opinion.

    Good video though.

  • @busy2crazy I think there's lots of variation with back foot placement, it's something that can be down to personal choice.

  • Really good your video. I just want to ask you please, if there is any kind of risk of damage on the knells when you do the rotation? Thanks a lot for your videos, I will use one each week to try to learn the basics movements!

  • @MrDlorencesful Thanks for the question. Unless there is a pre-existing condition with your knees, I don't believe that this skill would cause any problems.

  • Thought you'd enjoy my little clip. Awesome techniques here while you are teaching - sometimes they are harder to implement during a fight with nerves and punches going and coming - but your video is right on target - tight formation - small movements / less energy used. Good job!

  • @GoliathAngel Thank you, very kind. No time to think during the fight, which is why in gym time repetition, repetition, repetition is vital. Cheers
