@ultimate175gm good observation. I moved here from washington, and while I still get homesick from those haunted lands, oregon seems like there is room for a new uprising. If there was going to be a musical breakout I believe oregon will provide for it.

I read somewhere that Greg Sage actively worked against publicity. He didn't want it to effect his music.

Some dude spent an hour or two complaining about Oregonians not being 'motivated'. He teaches art at PSU. I wasn't about to downplay successful Oregonians, but I didn't know how to explain that most of us are the children of backwoodsmen who moved out here to get away from it all. Greg Sage I think isn't much different than that we're a generation of rugged individualist who like it here and see outside influence as corrupting.

@iamaladycanyousaveme I heard Greg Sage intentionally opposed any publicity that seemed geared towards 'making them big'. Not sure how true that is but I believe it.

@iamaladycanyousaveme well it's obvious if greg sage wanted fame he would be well known of now

such a great tune ...you can still hear Sage's pre-punk influences in this more than later Wipers stuff - bit of Hendrix, CCR even

@iamaladycanyousaveme You're an idiot! Sorry, can't fix stupid tho.

@iamaladycanyousaveme You really think the industry was in control with Nirvana? They did a bang up job then didn't they? Let's not even go there with the Pistols, hahaha. Um, just as an aside commercial success is not the be all & end all, some of the greatest music ever made was not commercially successful, that's not to say it wasn't relevant or incredibly influential. I suggest you get over your pipe dream of wishing all your fav bands sell millions.
I wish more people had the incentive as a real artist, instead of studio dwelling pop machines.
This type of behavior results in bands like nirvana to expose to true genius behind the music.
