Raw Chef Elaina Love loves raw cacao!

Many variations can be made on this recipe. For example:
Mayan version: add cayanne pepper
Holiday version: add peppermint extract
Decadant version: add goji berries
enjoy!!!

  • To the video maker: You've used the tag 'vegan' when you're using an animal product (honey). Vegans don't eat ANY animal product

  • i fixed the tag. a great alternative to honey is raw agave, which looks and tastes just like honey, and is completely natural too...

  • annoying girl , im leaving!!!

  • If he says it taste good.. GO FOR IT because avocado have healthy fats! It is so good for you.

  • who wants to eat all those nuts. yuck. i am not buying what you are selling. i would rather drink chocolate soya milk.

  • i drank raw green juice from a blender once and time warped into next week...picked up my paycheck without working that week..... so this proves there are benefits ot raw foods diet...also next time i made the juice i was so advanced that i tossed the liquid up in the air,and strained before it came back down into the glass by waving my hands to separate the solids from the liquids...this also proves that a raw foods diet is excellent...

  • I like raw food. But I'm not anal about it. Raw foodists claim their lifestyles as best. "Eat only raw foods because cooked foods cause bad health & disease," they say to frighten the masses. But cooking also kills bacteria that causes disease & death. "Cooking destroys enzymes & nutrients..." they say. Cooking actually helps to make more nutrients bio-available. Food enzymes die quickly in stomach acids. Enzymes in saliva have adapted for millions of years to survive thus aid digestion better.

  • Thank you! I will try your recipe. Sadly, I went through a 5 pound bag of raw almonds over the holidays. I had to show off my new soy/nut/seed milk maker. I can't get my next shipment fast enough!

BTW, I will often include a date or two in my almond smoothie to cut down on the raw honey or agave usage. I'm not sure if dates are considered raw or not but I'm not hung up on the strict raw diet, anyway. When it comes to food my tastes are ecclectic. Thanks, again.

  • Soy milk pro & con debates continue but I love the stuff. I make my own with steel cut oats, barley, agave & hemp seeds.

I love raw almond milk. And raw cacao too, but it does have its risks that outweigh those seen with soy products. Raw cacao can harm the liver, kidneys, is addictive & in large quantities (i.e. 40 beans) it has similar side-effects as LSD & hashish. In my college days during the early 70's I experimented with raw cacao beans as an adjunct to a science project. WOW! :P

  • Here's the problem with strict vegans & strict raw foodists. "They both see the world as either black or white; no gray areas."

Neither see eye-to-eye 100%. A vegan can be a raw foodist but raw foodists may eat raw animal products, like specially raised chickens! Some raw foodists think live mealworms are a dessert when prepared with raw almond cream, sesame seeds & raw honey. Would a vegan eat such a dish? Absolutely not! Would a raw foodist consume only raw veggies? Maybe, but unlikely.

  • @Superapplefrog WTF! Since when is a honey bee an animal? I think the vegans are taking their zealous animal product aversions to obsessive levels! And, yes, some say honey is bee spit. So it's a sugar -- made from the nectar of flowers! But...BUT, raw honey has a complement of phytonutrients, internal & external medicinal properties & shouldn't be totally avoided unless for adverse health reasons. Sure, there are alternatives but none are as versatile, digestable, nutritious or as delicious.

  • I put raw chocolate (cacao) in my morning smoothie... mixes well with cashews and almonds... freakin good stuff!!
