A video of me and my HDR-HC1 taken some pictures of the first day of meteorological summer!

Sorry for the jitters in some clips, my old tripod was horrid.

Also, every clip is basically uncut, but does have color correction, which means some clips may get boring, but enjoy anyway!

I get my new Letus35 next week, I'll have to put some video up of that too.

  • I'm looking to get the Letus35 to see if I could improve my shots DOF (which it most likely will, because it's quite limited without the L35). But if it doesn't work to my expectations I'll just throw it up onto ebay.

  • Kidkangol: The HDR-HC1 has a focus ring on it with the choice to manually focus your shots. With the right amount of distance away from the subject and make-up zoom, you can decrease the DOF creating what you see in the video.

The picture has been altered with Sony Vegas using the color correction tool to decrease gamma and add a bit of saturation, but that wouldn't effect anything in the depth-of-field realm.

  • DOES IT WORKS WITH TAPES AND DOES IT ALSO WORK WITH SONY VEGAS PRO TO MONTAGE VIDEOS.?

  • this person took not knowing what the fuck your doing with expensive equipment to the next level like three times over holy shit they managed to make one of my favorite cameras of all time look like the best cell phone camera ever (euphamism for shitty).

  • But how does the HC1 compare to the Canon HV30 in image quality?

  • Seriously. Vegas does everything Final Cut can at a fraction of the cost. It just has less street credit in comparison to Apple.

  • your dog at the end if a fucking douchebag!

  • SONY VEGAS IS REALLY AMAZING TOOL

  • Yup. There's two ways of manipulating depth of field: Focal length (zooming) and aperture.

The longer the focal length (zooming in), the shallower the depth of field.

The wider the aperture (the smaller f-stop #), the shallower DOF.

Great looking video, tell us how the letus35 is, I'm considering to buy one myself.

  • please let me know if you can use letus handheld with hc1! i know theredrockmicro requires a rig and letus looks more portable. im quite sure the DOF abilities will increase dramatically.
