@WLKCONSULTING The reason these women were so unique was because they came from a wealthy, socially elite background which they rebelled against, you cannot compare their story with any other and your attempt to play the 'race card' is inappropriate and cheap.

I feel sad that Little Edie never found true love, she had so much to give, such enthusiasm, vitality and an enchantingly childlike joix de vivre which was never satiated. By the time her mother died, she'd developed such a distrust and cautious approach that she continued to distance herself from most people, which is a real shame.

These women weren't crazy at all, just non-conforming eccentrics.
